Future Farmer Program 2.0

The Future Farmer Program will support business sector capacity growth and competitiveness by supporting new farmers to improve the probability that they establish or continue profitable and sustainable commercial farm businesses. The program will help new entrants identify and prioritize their business goals and will help them identify planning, management and technical skills that are needed to reach their goals.

Farmland Financing

The Farmland Financing is available to eligible farmers; new and expanding or those involved in farmland succession within PEI.

Farm Assessment Program for Bona fide Farmers

The Farm Assessment Program for Bona fide Farmers provides farmers with tax relief on the land used for farming,   If you are interested in this program, you may also want to apply for a Marked Gasoline and Marked Diesel Oil Permit.

 Entrepreneur Loan Program

The Entrepreneur Loan Program provides entrepreneurs with up to $100,000 for use as an investment in new and existing Prince Edward Island businesses. Loans are sourced directly through Finance PEI with terms up to a maximum of seven years. Interest is charged at a floating rate of TD Bank prime plus three (3) per cent.

AgriStability helps farm operations facing large margin declines due to the combined conditions of declining markets, production losses and increased input costs.

AgriInsurance

 Producers can face uncontrollable natural hazards during the production year. AgriInsurance is a production insurance program that can help mitigate these risks. AgriInsurance stabilizes a producer’s income by minimizing the impact of yield losses from uncontrollable events like drought, excessive moisture, disease, or insect infestations.

The Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership is a $3.5 billion, 5-year agreement between the federal, provincial, and territorial governments aimed at strengthening the competitiveness, innovation, and resiliency of Canada’s agriculture, agri-food, and agri-based products sector.
