Future Farmer Program 2.0
The Future Farmer Program, funded by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, supports business sector capacity growth and competitiveness by supporting new farmers to improve the probability that they establish or continue profitable and sustainable commercial farm businesses. The program will help new entrants identify and prioritize their business goals and will help them identify planning, management and technical skills that are needed to reach their goals.
Business Development Program
The Business Development Program, funded by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, supports the agriculture sector by providing funding for skills training and is comprised of three training categories:
Agri-Skills Individualized Training; Group Training for Agricultural Producers, Agri-Processors and/or Agri-Businesses; and Organizational Development.
Graduate Mentorship Program for Job Seekers
The Graduate Mentorship Program is an employment program to help unemployed recent post-secondary graduates develop new skills and gain work experience in their field of study through on the job training. A temporary wage subsidy is provided to an employer to create long term employment opportunities and assist with the cost of hiring and training a new employee. At the end of the wage subsidy, the employee should be fully productive and contributing to the success of the business.
